This BallMAKER MOLD for casting cal. 44 SLUGS, mainly for black powder Remington Colt Pietta's or Uberti's revolvers.
The mold is made of a durable resin, the cast is quite simple and it need the cheapest hot glue gun. Slugs casted using this mold have high accuracy and depending on the type of tip used high impact power. Projectiles of this form can be used in black powder shooting training. The hot glue is similar material like rubber, does not damage the barrel and is easy to clean. Missiles can often be found whole after shooting. You can shoot this slugs by 3 ways: - standard shooting - using normal materials as for lead bullets, but using a smaller dose of gunpowder, about 0.25g, - less lethal shooting - using only 6mm short cartridges for nipples from the French company H&C, intended especially for Pietta and Uberti revolver replicas, (energy similar to a very strong air rifle) - soft shooting - using only standard percussion caps putted on original nipples with holes enlarged to 2.5 mm. (energy of a typical air rifle) Making such slugs of hotglue yourself is very cheap compared to other ammunition on the market! To increase the weight of the cast slugs, it is best to use steel bearing balls. The heavier the ball, the harder it hits the target, or more effectively disable the attacker. Rounded shape causes that the slug does meet with less resistance in the barrel and accurately hits the target. BallMAKER slugs have center of mass on the tip that slugs always hit with it. Each mold is sending with casting instruction and some free different steel balls. |
